About Villach
Booming with business from its international railway junction, Villach is a lovely old town with a modern spark.
Villach is the seventh-largest city in Austria and the second-largest in the federal state of Carinthia. It represents an important traffic junction for southern Austria and the whole Alpe-Adria region. There are several festivals throughout the year including the carnival in Villach (which starts on November 11 and ends on March 4), the arts and crafts festival, Villacher Fasching or Mardi Gras, the streets-art festival, the "Villacher Kirchtag" (a festival spanning a whole week in summer and ends on August's first Saturday), and performances on a floating stage on the Drau River.

Guests of the Karawankenhof can access the Kärnten Therme daily from 08:00 in the morning, which is 1 hour before it is opened to the public. This includes an indoor pool, a heated outdoor pool, and a wide range of saunas, hot tubs and steam baths. There is also a direct connection to the health therapy section.
Guests arriving with children can borrow free of charge equipment such as baby monitor, buggy, bottle warmer and baby backpack. Those with a business schedule have conference facilities at their disposal.
Hiking and cycling trails, as well as cross-country ski runs, start at the doorstep. The centre of Villach is just a 5-minute drive or bus ride away. Lake Wörth is a 15-minute drive away, and in winter, the Gerlitzen Ski Area can be reached in a 30-minute drive. Read more...
