About Budapest

Budapest is the capital and the largest city of Hungary. It is the country's principal political, cultural, commercial, industrial, and transportation center, sometimes described as the primate city of Hungary. Cited as one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, Budapest's extensive World Heritage Site includes the banks of the Danube, the Buda Castle Quarter, Andrassy Avenue, Heroes' Square, and the Millennium Underground Railway, the second-oldest metro line in the world. The city contains around 80 geothermal springs and a plethora of remarkable attractions, such as the Castle Hill, the neo-Gothic Parliament, Saint Stephen's Basilica, Matthias Church, Dohany Street Synagogue, and more.

About Pecs

Pecs is the fifth largest city of Hungary. The city has always been a multicultural city where many cultural layers are encrusted melting different values of the history of two thousand years. The first university in Hungary was founded in Pecs in 1367 (the largest university still resides here). It also retains its rich heritage from the age of a 150-year-long Ottoman occupation, exemplified in the mosque of Pasha Qasim and the Jakovali Hassan Mosque. In addition, the city is noted for the Cella Septichora, the Necropolic of Sopianae, an 11C cathedral, and Hungarian Bishop's Palace, among multitude of others.

About Tihany

Tihany is a village on the northern shore of Lake Balaton on the Tihany Peninsula. The whole peninsula is a historical district. The center of the district is the Benedictine Tihany Abbey, rebuilt in baroque style in 1754, and still functioning. This abbey is a popular tourist attraction due to its historical and artistic significance, as well as its view of Lake Balaton. In addition, the village is famed for two local legends - one about an echo that has existed in the area in the 18C and had since abated; and another, concerning a proud princess and "goats' nails" washed ashore from Balaton.
